Selection of welding process to large scale project on site by QFD and multi criteria methods

Selecting a process for welding large scale equipment on site demands special expertise due to the numerous variables be considered. This paper is aims applying decision support methodology selection of 16000 cubic meter storage tank welded site. Five processes are chosen select from, namely, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded (SMAW), Submerged (SAW), Flux Cord (FCAW) and Tungsten (GTAW). To reach this goal combining Quality Function Deployment (QFD) with two Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) which Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) modified version Preference Ranking Organization Method Enrichment Evaluations PROMETHEE II Extended (EXPROM2). The analytical result showed that (SMAW) optimum process.
